Chocolate protein donuts
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup all purpose flour
2 Scoops whey protein powder
1/4 Cup cocoa powder
1 Tsp baking powder
1/4 Tsp salt
1 Egg
1/3 Cup sugar-free granulated sweetener
1/3 Cup milk
1 Tsp vanilla
A few drops of orange extract, optional
2 Tbsp melted butter
Sugar-free chocolate for glazing, melted
Chopped almonds
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 F and lightly grease a donut pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl combine flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine egg, sweetener, milk, butter, vanilla and orange extract if using.
- Slowly add in the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
- Fill the donut pan with the batter.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until donuts are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
- Allow donuts to cool fully before glazing them. Sprinkle with chopped almonds. Enjoy!
